Meet the Jesters Board of Directors

Background

Hello, my name is Maddie and my background is in the Culture sector. I’ve always been interested in how we can work together to make services as people friendly as possible and have been transforming services in Libraries Heritage and Arts over many years and across five London boroughs.

The built environment is an important element of our lives and I have led on the refurbishment of many public libraries over the last 15 years, developing and commissioning bespoke furniture solutions for adults and children and activity based design elements to ensure fun and educational environments for all members of the family.

I’m a great believer in the benefits of cultural experiences in the wider development of both children and adults from rhymes through to knowledge based research and recreational reading.

The ability to read well and with understanding is so important for children to be successful in all areas of the curriculum and widens their life experience through stories, song and creativity.

My interest in delivering better services is underpinned by a great belief in developing staff to their full potential and encouraging staff to believe in themselves, develop self confidence and acknowledge the contribution of everyone to the services they are delivering and of course by taking responsibility for how the service is ultimately viewed by the people using it.
