Meet the Jesters Board of Directors

Background

Hello, my name is Janette and I am a Childcare Specialist Adviser working with Jesters Early Years and Out of School Clubs. I hold a childcare qualification (NNEB) an Adult Teaching Qualification and my career in childcare and education has spanned over forty years!

I worked both with the Local Authority and Ofsted for 16 years as an Inspector for early years, visiting all types of registered day care settings from day nurseries, pre-schools, childminders to out of school care. I then decided to return to Essex Early Years, working for eight years as an Early Years Foundation Stage Adviser; successfully supporting early years settings to achieve good and outstanding results with Ofsted; until taking early retirement in 2017.

The Jesters Family

My role in Jesters has many facets, from helping set up the Early Years Provisions, to coaching, monitoring and training staff to meet their full potential and therefore being able to deliver high quality care in the early years.

One of my main interests is to keep up to date with current childcare thinking and regulations so I can pass on relevant information to the Jesters team. My passion is for Jesters to provide the highest quality care and education in a nurturing and holistic environment to support babies and children to live their best life; now and in the future. I want Jesters children to remember their early years with happiness.

Outside work

I live in Maldon with my husband and have two grown up married children and four beautiful little grandchildren. In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, being ‘crafty’ and reading.

Favourite children’s book

My Favourite children’s book is The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson. It is such an interactive rhyming story helping children develop their language and love of sharing books.
