The Nursery School Phase

Our Danbury Nursery School is exclusively for pre-school aged children so that we can fully embed the School Readiness Programme, ensuring that it reflects this age group’s stage and ability to retain the information being taught. One of our Head of Education’s favourite phrases in teaching is “If you over water the plant, it all seeps out of the bottom”. We want to water each child in a way which ensures that their learning growth is organic and sustainable.

Our qualified teachers and practitioners encourage children to learn by providing educational materials and carefully planned activities appropriate to each child, after close observation in our specially prepared learning environment. Jesters have fantastic understanding of the unique child and of providing learning opportunities that match each child’s interests. Jesters demonstrate and model learning activities whilst providing freedom for the students to independently choose and learn in their own way. Our teachers manage classroom behaviours by modelling ongoing respect for all children and their work, by observing and using sensitive periods, interest and activities and by diverting inappropriate behaviour to meaningful tasks.

The culmination of our School Readiness Programme is celebrated in style with a formal Graduation Ceremony held in the summer.
