Meet the Jesters Family at Bicknacre Nursery

Background

Hi there, I’m Annaliese! I’ve had a rewarding career teaching English at Secondary level, KS3 through to 5. Yoga has always been prevalent in my life and I’m a 200hr Vinyasa-qualified Yoga Teacher. My love of the practise combined with my background in education lead to the creation of ‘Yoga for Schools,’ a business creating and delivering Yoga curriculums for educational settings.

The Jesters Family

Jesters are ahead of the curve in their awareness of wellbeing for children. They know that building emotional resilience and a sense of self-worth begins early. Together, we’ve created a cross-curricular Yoga programme to provide Jesters’ children with tools to self-regulate and self-soothe, an essential start to wellbeing for life.

The themes, games and stories in our Yoga Programme support development of core strength, stability, balance, spatial awareness, co-ordination, and agility. The sessions also explore meditation and have opportunities for stillness.

Pre-schoolers experience themes spanning phonics, STEM, numeracy and more, with younger children enjoying movement linked to well-known stories, including my personal favourite (see below!).

Outside work

As well as my passion for Yoga, as you would imagine, with my English teaching background, one of my strongest interests lies in Literature and I love to read.
